Mental Health First Aid Training: This is a 2-day course to qualify you as a mental health first aider giving an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors addicting well-being. It will teach signs and triggers to look out for and give the skills to allow confidence to give support to a person in distress. It will also give people the knowledge to be able to help others in their recovery whether this is self-help resources or gaining assistance through the employer.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST): This is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid and more. ASIST teaches participants to recognise when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop – anyone 16 or older can learn and use the ASIST model.
