Candidates are required to attend three classroom days, which focuses on teaching emergency lifesaving skills and how to deal with non-life-threatening situations. The classroom course is assessed through a role-play scenario.

The Level 3 First Aid at Work Course is fast paced and informative in which the following topics will be covered:

  • Roles and responsibilities of the First Aider
  • Accident reporting procedures
  • First aid kits
  • Primary Survey (DRABCD)
  • Assessing for injuries
  • CPR for adults, children, and babies

It is recommended that low-risk businesses who are responsible for over 100 people should have at least one person certified in first aid at work. Within high-risk industries, all first aiders should complete this course.

Certification

During and at the end of the course there will be formal assessments; if successful the candidates will receive a nationally recognised Level 3 First Aid at Work electronic certificate. This fully meets HSE requirements, and the latest guidelines from the resuscitation council. The certificate is valid for 3 years, it is recommended that refresher training is completed annually.

The Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification course is taught over two days. Candidates receive a nationally recognised certificate which is valid for three years. 

Holding a current level 3 certificate is a pre-entry requirement. Therefore emphasis is placed on refreshing current skills and getting updated on any changes to the guidelines.

Candidates can expect to refresh the practical skills they learned through their initial training and will be updated on any guideline/procedure changes.

Certification

Candidates will receive a Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate upon completion that will last for 3 years. Annual refresher training is recommended to keep skills fresh and up to date.

The Emergency First Aid at Work Course provides you with a certificate, which meets the requirements outlined by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

This is the most common workplace first aid course, which covers all of the major life-threatening scenarios. Low-risk industries should enroll where you are responsible for less than 100 people.

Certification

To complete the course there is summative and formative assessment. If successful, each candidate will be awarded a nationally recognised Emergency First Aid at Work certificate with the specialisation noted which is valid for 3 years. Annual refreshers are recommended

Paediatric First Aid Level 3

The Paediatric First Aid course meets the requirements of OFSTED and therefore is suitable for teachers to complete their registrations. It complies with the latest guidelines from the Early Years Foundation.

The course involves teaching practical skills required to save the life of an infant or child in the event of an emergency. Our instructor will demonstrate and help you gain the confidence to use these skills should the need arise.

Certification

The Paediatric First Aid certificate is awarded once the theory and practical modules are assessed and completed. The certification is valid for 3 years, refreshers are recommended annually.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid

This course covers the practical skills that are required to save the life of a child or infant during an emergency. This is suitable for Nannies, Au Pairs, babysitters and parents who mainly need to learn about the practical elements of first aid.

The course follows the syllabus of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the requirements of Ofsted for the Voluntary register.

The instructor demonstrates each practical skill, and then allows people time to practice themselves. Working in small groups candidates practice on manikins with the full support from the instructor.

Candidates will learn how to preserve life, prevent conditions from worsening, and how to promote recovery. This is achieved through demonstrations, practicals and theory. Candidates learn about the following topics and much more:

Basic Life Support

At the end of the course, candidates receive a certificate, which is valid for three years. It is a recognised qualification that can be used as part of CPD within the workplace and gives an individual the confidence to deal with an emergency situation. Annual refresher training is recommended.

Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis Level 3

An Anaphylactic shock, or anaphylaxis, is a life-threatening, serious allergic reaction to an allergen such as food substances or insect stings. If it is not treated appropriately, it may cause death. This training is for qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders to enable them to recognise and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively.

When administering a medication, it is important to recognise and differentiate between allergic reactions and the potentially life-threatening anaphylactic reactions immediately. It is also essential to determine whether the individual has had an allergic or anaphylactic response to the medication in the past or prior to administration.

This course is suitable for all First Aiders and healthcare professionals, as well as those in a high-risk environment where such medication is available.

Syllabus

The course is made up of practical and theoretical sessions delivered by your Instructor who will provide a detailed course programme.

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Describe anaphylaxis
  • Identify triggers for anaphylaxis

Describe life-threatening problems associated with the:

Student First Aid Level 2

The Government has announced that health education will become compulsory in all state-funded schools in England from September 2020 and this includes basic first aid training.

This 3-hour Student First Aid course has been designed for key stage 3 and key stage 4 students (11+ years) and fulfills the requirements of the Department for Education in respect of first aid training.

Not only would secondary schools meet the statutory requirements for health education, but students would also have the opportunity to attain a nationally regulated qualification, enhance their CV and develop new life skills.
